I have been reading Treasure Island, of all things, via dailylit.com, and I have to say it is a ripping tale. If you have not read it, believe all the good things you’ve ever heard about it and go subscribe to it. I subscribed to the “double dose” mailing, because I knew that one small chunk every morning would not be enough.
I believe it’s one of the most undersung books in literature. I reread it once a year at least.
I’ve been very impressed with the speed at which it moves. There’s no filler at all.
It’s weird, but a copy of Treasure Island suddenly appeared today on our dining room table. I don’t know whether one of my kids checked it out from the library of what.
