Today I received an email from my contact with the Hangzhou Orchestra: the music, with its large orchestral forces and Western chromaticism, is simply not a good fit for them. They will not be performing the world premiere in July. Which is as I suspected it would be.

Their loss. Well, and ours too.
I say, when you are tossed a bone you have doubts about, let it lay there. This was a comical graft attempt. No loss. Maybe they could back up John White on a few Cole Porter tunes.
Perhaps what they should have said is that their orchestra is not up to playing your piece. I agree with Turff. Their loss.
